Business also known as trade is not a new concept. It was there from the ancient times. Initially it started as trading of products or exchanging of goods. This is also called as barter trading system in the olden days. People used to exchange goods with each other like food for clothing and so on. This came into existence because of the fact the human wants started to increase gradually and the skill with one human is not always the same with the other human.
Hence people started to exchange goods from one another for their basic needs. In the ancient days humans used to do almost everything by themselves right from food, to clothing and shelter. As the human population grew and the human brains started to get more matured reasoning and thinking and thinking began to expand. As the population increased they started to move from small groups to small villages, to towns and so on. As the requirements started to increase there was the need to invent new things.
Some of the basic examples would be tools for cultivation of crops, for making huts, house, clothes, weapons for hunting and so on. Some people used to be specialized in specific skills like making tools, weapons, weaving clothes etc., and would exchange for grains, clothing and so on. As the groups of humans started to build civilizations there came a standard code for the barter system what is known as medium of exchange. Here people can exchange metal or precious metal for the finished products or the raw materials as required.
This barter system is what is today a multi-advanced and a multi-complicated business. Now a days the basic concept of business seems to be very small as compared to the modern business and trade. Everything seems to be happening within seconds right from transactions to producing of goods to marketing the same. The whole world works like a small business village.
